On the occasion of World Bee Day, at Strip’s we celebrate a future that we are co-creating together with nature. This day is a reminder of how closely our well-being is connected to bees and the ecosystems that sustain them – and how important it is to actively protect and support biodiversity.
At our company headquarters, we have officially opened a unique beehive, integrated directly into the wall of our building. This innovative installation combines nature, architecture, and technology in one living system. Visitors can observe the bees safely through a glass partition, gaining a direct insight into their fascinating world, while on the outside the bees have unrestricted access to their natural foraging environment.
Under the hive, our innovative beekeeping monitoring system BeeConn has been installed, enabling optimal hive conditions and advanced, data-driven monitoring of bee health and activity. The system provides continuous insights that support the well-being of the colony and reflects our belief that technology can play a meaningful role in supporting nature, not replacing it.
A particularly meaningful moment marked the opening ceremony. The trees were planted together with Tomaž Smrkolj, owner and CEO of the company, by his father, daughter, son, and grandson – four generations standing side by side. This powerful moment symbolizes continuity, shared responsibility, and a long-term commitment to building a future that extends beyond any single generation.
In addition, our employees contributed to this initiative by planting 10 nectar-rich trees in the immediate vicinity of the company. Carefully selected species ensure flowering across different periods of the year, creating a continuous food source for bees and strengthening local biodiversity throughout the seasons.
Together, these initiatives reflect our broader commitment to sustainability – not as a concept, but as a practice embedded in our everyday decisions and actions.
